Day 10 #30giftsfromnature

Today’s gift is Power.

By power, I don’t mean force. I mean harnessing your natural power and creating results with less effort, more ease.

Too often, we can fall into the trap of believing that being powerful means being forceful. And that to get something done we need to push, force or manipulate.

Yet when we observe Nature we can see that the opposite is frequently true and that gentleness can be extremely powerful too. Take this delicate flower for example, growing through a brick wall. Imagine trying to force a flower through a wall. It just wouldn’t happen.

To quote Mahatma Gandhi, “In a gentle way you can shake the world”

A need to exert force often stems from a belief that we don’t have the power within us.

Today’s Practice

Find a quiet place, perhaps in nature, and take some time to just be.

Ask yourself “Where am I trying to force, push or manipulate?” Where am I trying too hard?”

Notice the thoughts, feelings, emotions, energy and consequences connected with this.

Now take a few deep breaths and let that go.

Imagine now connecting with the power within you, and adopting a more natural and perhaps gentle approach.

Notice the thoughts, feelings, emotions, energy and consequences.

What becomes obvious, what insights emerge?
